Trouser Press Books is a New York-based publisher specializing in quality music journalism and fiction. The roots of the company go back to 1974, when three friends launched a rock and roll fanzine. Trouser Press existed for ten years and spawned a series of acclaimed record guides published by major houses. The contents of those books later formed the basis for the Trouser Press website, which remains active as an online music publication, a fully indexed magazine archive and more.

In 2009, Trouser Press Books published its first title, the ‘60s political novel Kick It Till It Breaks. Since then, the imprint has published another novel, three volumes of Music in a Word, an anthology-cum-memoir, Looking for the Magic, Mitchell Cohen’s history of Arista Records; Rock’s in My Head, a memoir by LA scene veteran Art Fein; The Bleecker Street Tapes by Bruce Pollock, two volumes of Backstage & Beyond by Jim Sullivan and Time Has Come Today by Rhino Records co-founder Harold Bronson, Zip It Up! The Best of Trouser Press Magazine 1974-1984 and Sweet, Wild and Vicious: Listening to Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground by Jim Higgins.
